Our Courses

Three courses, taught around Toronto, each built for a different starting point — from a first look at everyday awareness to a sixteen-week intensive season.

Transit & Rideshare Awareness

CA$140
Students practising during the Transit & Rideshare Awareness course

This short course looks at the ordinary moments of getting around the city: waiting on a platform, choosing a seat, and reading a station layout before committing to it. We walk through practical habits for confirming a rideshare before stepping in, and for noticing an uncomfortable situation early enough to simply move away from it.

The tone stays conversational rather than dramatic. Sessions include one guided neighbourhood walk where the group practises reading an actual street and transit environment together, rather than discussing it only in a classroom.

What's included

  • Printable commute checklist
  • Small groups capped at 10 learners
  • Follow-up questions answered by email
  • One guided neighbourhood walk

Audience: Beginners and commuters, ages 16 and up · Duration: 3 sessions of 2 hours, including one guided neighbourhood walk

Women's Self-Defense Fundamentals

CA$610
Students practising during the Women's Self-Defense Fundamentals course

Taught by women instructors, this eight-week course builds from the ground up: setting a boundary out loud, using a strong voice, and working through releases from common grabs. Each week follows a predictable structure, so new learners always know what a session will cover before it starts.

Simple striking options are introduced once the earlier material feels comfortable. A peer practice circle lets learners repeat movements with classmates at their own pace, and a refresher session one month after the course ends gives everyone a chance to revisit what they learned.

What's included

  • Loaner pads and gloves
  • Peer practice circle each week
  • One-month refresher session included
  • Small, consistent weekly group

Audience: Women and non-binary learners, beginner level · Duration: 8 weekly sessions, 2 hours each

Coastal Intensive Season

CA$1,375
Students practising during the Coastal Intensive Season course

A sixteen-week programme for learners who have finished the Fundamentals course or already have some standing experience. It blends upright fundamentals with jiu-jitsu-inspired ground movement, and spends several calm scenario days in different indoor settings so the practice does not become tied to one room.

Six private coaching sessions are folded into the sixteen weeks for learners who want individual attention on a specific movement. Mid-season and final skills reviews give a clear sense of progress, and learners finish with a personal practice plan to keep working on their own.

What's included

  • Six private coaching sessions
  • Rash guard included
  • Mid-season skills review
  • Final skills review and personal practice plan

Audience: Intermediate learners or graduates of the Fundamentals course · Duration: 16 weeks, three sessions per week

How consistency is kept

Each course runs to a fixed weekly structure, written down before the first session, so instructors cover the same ground with every group. Scenario days and reviews follow the same checklist each season, which is how we keep the Coastal Intensive consistent across its sixteen weeks even with several instructors involved.

Who teaches

Courses are led by instructors experienced in striking, grappling fundamentals and women-led instruction formats, drawing on backgrounds in martial arts and movement coaching. None of our courses require a regulated professional licence — they are educational and skills-based, not a substitute for professional security or legal services.

Transit & Rideshare Awareness suits anyone new to a city commute; Women's Self-Defense Fundamentals is built for learners with no prior training; Coastal Intensive Season suits graduates and those with some standing experience already. None of our courses are aimed at young children, and none substitute for licensed security training.
