Corvane Path

About Corvane Path

A small Toronto-based team teaching awareness and self-defense courses with a steady, repetition-first approach.

Corvane Path started as a small set of weekend classes in Toronto and grew into a short slate of courses once it became clear how much interest there was in calm, structured self-defense instruction rather than one-off workshops. We now run three courses on a recurring schedule, operating as MARTIAL ARTS DEPOT INC..

Our focus stays narrow on purpose: everyday awareness on transit and rideshare trips, a women-led fundamentals course, and a longer intensive season for people who want to keep building on what they learned. We are not a gym and we do not run drop-in fitness classes — every course has a defined start, a defined structure, and a defined end.

Sessions are led by a lead instructor with a background in both striking and grappling-style instruction, a transit course coach who designs the guided neighbourhood walk, and assistant instructors who support the peer practice circle and private coaching during the longer intensive. Nobody on the floor is unnamed to the class they are leading when you arrive.

We teach general education, awareness and movement practice. Our courses are not a substitute for professional security services, legal advice or any regulated profession, and we make no promise about what a learner will be able to do afterward — only what the course itself covers.

Who our courses fit

We built three different starting points on purpose, because a first-time commuter and a returning student need very different first sessions.

New commuters

Learners who want calmer habits getting around the city, ages 16 and up.

First-time learners

No prior training — the Fundamentals course starts from zero and builds weekly.

Returning students

Graduates of Fundamentals ready for the longer Coastal Intensive Season.

Workplace groups

Teams booking a shared course together; message us to talk scheduling.

None of our courses are aimed at young children, and none are a substitute for licensed security training.

Where we are

We teach out of a studio room on Finch Avenue West in Toronto, with the Transit & Rideshare course also covering nearby neighbourhood streets and transit stops as part of its guided walk. Evening session times are set to Eastern Time.
